Decker Girls 2nd Annual Girls Trip - Scottsdale!!!
A conference called "Chicks Who Click" happened to be taking place the same time we were there. It was for women photographers and vendors. We met some of the nicest, most fun women and I am even Facebook friends with two of them now. They were a good time!!
Next year we're thinking we'll hit a spa resort in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We could actually drive there so we could make the road trip part of our vacation. I'm still not too sure if that's a good idea or not:-)
Our first night out. The resort had a courtesy Cadillac Escalade that would take you where ever you needed to go. That is definitely my next car! Oh yeah.. here is Mom & Ronda at dinner.

Birthday: Take 2.. or 3...
We started off at Melissa's where she had yummy margaritas waiting for us and then we mosied on down to the theater. We saw the movie The Killers. It was actually pretty good. I'm not a fan of Ashton Kutcher (he's just a big dork married to an old lady;-) ) but he was pretty okay to look at! We originally had planned to see Sex and the City 2 but we showed up 20 minutes late for that. No biggie. We still had an awesome time!
Before we left. We sure know how to strike a pose!

"Girls Only" Take 2
I wasn't allowed to take any pictures in the theater which is a big bummer because there would have been some good ones! So here we are before the show and after the show. Can you tell we had a good time? And a few more drinks...
This "man" is in the bathroom area and ALL those pictures are people with this "man". We just couldn't resist...
No night out in Denver is ever complete without someone in the car (me!) having the brilliant idea of hitting the Grizzly Rose for a couple more drinks and some dancing!!
We drove around the parking lot and were going to give up when we couldn't find a decent parking spot but we decided to give it one more shot. I about died when Aryn shouted out "THERE'S MARIA!!!" with Maria being her mother-in-law! Lo and behold.. we drive right by the front door and there is Maria in her Ford Explorer in the very first parking spot all by herself! At 11:00 at night! I know this story won't be funny to many but oh man... if you knew Maria you would be falling off of your chair! She's umm.. let's say.. interesting to say the least...
Aryn found a disguise in the backseat of Mom's car (Ronda and I always borrow Mom's car for these types of things.. no shuffling of car seats!). I guess she needed it just in case Maria could see through the jet black tinted windows on a dark night!
And of course we needed a picture of our killer parking space. Thanks Maria!!
And the fun just continued...
I forgot to mention it was Ladies Night! Who knew?! FREE DRINKS!!

"In" my 30's...
I spent the entire morning cleaning the house from top to bottom which hasn't been done in a LONG time. Why I picked my birthday is beyond me but I do have to say, when it was all done, it was the best present I could have given myself. It's so clean in here! I then proceeded to whine (just a little bit;-) ) to Ryan about how one day it would be really cool if he would surprise me with a vacation for my birthday. It wouldn't even have to be elaborate; I'd take a stay-cation somewhere in the state! I have no idea where I got the bug that birthdays are a HUGE deal and should always be a VERY special event. No offense to my parents (who truly are the best!) but birthdays were never a big thing growing up. No parties or cool themes or anything like that. We definitely always got to pick what dinner we wanted Mom to cook and we always had our own cake so it's not like they were dreadful. I just feel that each birthday is really something to celebrate because many people don't live to see many birthdays and each year that God gives us is a true gift.
Now let me clarify, I don't mean that birthdays should put you in debt or cause you to have to clean a messy house for days after 100 people are invited over, or anything like that. They just need to be made special. I was bound and determined to make mine special! And again, it was a Wednesday so Ryan was up to his ears with work and schoolwork so he really did the best he could. He cleaned the 1/2 bath for me!! Anyhoo... I took the kids to Target for a little shopping and then we ate there as well. It was the first time they ever had a slurpee and they had to share so that was interesting. They did good with the sharing but each one about burst their eyeballs out trying to suck up as much as they could before they had to pass the cup to the other. We then went home and while the kids were napping, I went over to my sister's for a nice margarita. Sidenote: In case you aren't aware, Mike's Hard Lemonade now has a Hard Margarita!! WHOA! They are GOOD!! She also gave me my birthday present and I love it! An awesome lady at church makes these.
Then I went to pick the kids up and went over to my parents house. Ryan showed up with a card which made me very happy. Well.. in the card was a nice little itinerary to CABO SAN LUCAS BABY!!!! I guess my whining (just a little bit) paid off!! And only 2 reservations! That will definitely be the longest I have been away from the kids but I think I'll conquer it. Hopefully Mom and Dad will be able to conquer it on their end too:-) With all the talk about the danger of Mexico, we will just be happy to come back with our heads still on our necks and our hearts still placed nicely in our chests. I think I will avoid the news until after we go!
Here are some pics from my birthday "eve" dinner. Of course it was at Mexican restaurant! Shocker, right?!
