I'm gonna be a consultant:-)

So.. I finally caved. I kinda, deep down knew I would but I'm finally okay with it. I signed up to sell Creative Memories. I wish there was a better way of saying that but that's really the only way I can think to put it. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to scrapbook and it just hasn't been happening like I wished it would. I need to do a crop at least monthly to stay on top of things so needless to say, I'm about 5 years behind!! I'm having my first crop on Saturday and I'm stoked that at least 7 people are showing up!! That's a nice confidence boost:-) Here's the hard part. I am thinking of starting digital scrapping which means that blogging would cause me to do it all twice and that just doesn't sound so great. So... if I start tapering off in the blog world, you'll know why. I'll still post the funny ones like my little boy in fairy wings or my little girl in her daddy's flipflops.

Zac Brown Band at Red Rocks!

Last night we went to see Zac Brown with my sister, her husband Gary, and some of their friends. I knew the show would be good but I had NO idea just how awesome it would be!!

We started off the night with Mexican food and margaritas at the Morrison Inn. It's a great place and one of the local radio stations was there. After dinner, we headed on up the hill. Red Rocks is literally built into a mountain so it is quite the trek to get to the amphitheatre. Side note: Ryan and I were married in Morrison right by Red Rocks:-)

I will say that this was the absolute best concert I have ever been to and I have been to many. It was a combination of the breath-taking venue and Zac Brown but Zac Brown is a one-of-a-kind entertainer. He played for a solid three hours and made many references to our brave troops serving in the war. If you know me, you know I love Patriotism!!!! He gave everyone who wrote a letter to the troops a free CD. Ryan wrote one when he went to buy all our ZB paraphenalia so we got a CD!!

Also, in my own little way I got to be a part of ZB's history. He said playing at Red Rocks allowed him to check another item off his bucket list!! Sweet!!

I got him his first cowboy shirt! Gotta love Kohl's:-)

Labor Day Weekend - Steamboat Springs

We went to my now all-time favorite place, Steamboat, for Labor Day weekend. We met my brother Danny and his family there and camped. As you know by now, my type of camping is a nice campground with full hookups and cable TV:-) We had an amazing time and had a ton of fun. Saturday we went into town and shopped at all the stores during their sidewalk sale. It's definitely not as pretentious as Aspen which made me very happy (some mountain towns can be a huge turnoff when the snobby jet-setters arrive) and the shopping alot more fun.

Their inaugural ride in "the back of a pickup truck". Just over to my brother's camper but they thought it was pretty cool! I remember when I got to ride in the back of a pickup truck all the way to the lake... 2 hours away!! Ah.. the good old days...
On Sunday, we went to an airshow at the airport. Who knew Steamboat had an airport?? It was by far the best airshow I've ever been to. It was super small and was filled with old planes with a ton of history. Hunter and Reagan loved it. Not only did they get to ride in a bus (they're into many forms of transportation these days:-) ) but they got to actually see and feel real, live airplanes!!

Okay, so Caitlyn decided she really wanted to ride on one of the planes. I'm talking FLY on one of the planes. I thought it was very cool that they'd give you the opportunity. This one was $45/person for I have no clue how long. So.. she boarded the plane and the plane proceeded to taxi the runway. Except it just kept taxiing and then stopped, turned off it's engines, and off she came. It turned out that one of the old planes that landed before theirs was supposed to take off blew a tire on landing. So.. she did get to ride on the plane... for free!!

Here she is boarding the plane. Check out the dude on the right. We were laughing at him all day because he seriously just stood around like he seriously fried his brain on a really bad drug. Turns out, he was a volunteer. Umm... not sure how much help this kid was...

This was inside one of the planes landing gear area (is that the correct aviation term there?? HA!). These are signatures of military men who flew in the plane. The dates are all in the 1940's. VERY cool!!
Of course there was playing at the park and swimming to be done!

Our campground was right on the river so we hung out there for a bit. Next time we'll bring tubes because it was perfect for tubing. Even for the kids!

I think the highlight of the trip was going on the Alpine Slide. We took the chair lift up to the top and then went down the side of a mountain on a 2400 foot track... FAST! The first time I went with Hunter and Ryan went with Reagan. When it was all done, Reagan insisted we "GO AGAIN". We went one more time and switched kids. Ryan and I raced down and I mean we were hauling. Hunter kept yelling "YEE HAW!". Reagan and I would have won had I not had to finally use the hand break when we flew around a corner and I had to catch her hat after it flew off. So... Ryan won. We'll get him next time though! We would have kept going had we not run out of money! Reagan was almost to the point of hysteria when we told her we were done but we pointed her to a new park and she mellowed out.

Denver Downtown Aquarium

Today we finally went to the Aquarium. I'll be honest. We didn't even think about it until we found out we had to drive to south Denver to pick up the tickets to Zac Brown Band (WOOHOO!!!) that we bought from some guy off of Craigslist. We didn't want to waste the trip and we knew the kids would love the aquarium. We figured we would too. We were right! What an amazing place! Luckily the kids are still under 3 so they were free. I'm not too sure if we'll frequent the place once we have to start paying for them because that would be pretty pricey.

Hunter LOVED the stingrays!! We have a video of me feeding them but I can't get it to load. I'll keep trying:-)

This was the "Mermaid" show. These girls were pretty impressive. They were in there for 15 minutes doing this amazing Mermaid show. Of course, they would go up occasionally to get air but their legs had to be rock solid from swimming like they did. What's classic is that Hunter was way more into the mermaids than Reagan was. Yeah, they were pretty cute:-)
