Hunter's first hunting trip

.... to hunt prairie dogs. No, it's not much of a hunt but I guess the target practice is good. And the farmers love getting rid of them;-) I'm a big softy so I was worried how Hunter would react to the massacre but evidently he did just fine. He didn't want to get too close to the kill though as the second picture shows. I just love my boy being a boy:-)

This picture broke my heart at first but Ryan SWEARS that look on his face was just because he didn't want to get close.

New backyard play set!

Last Friday, the weather was sooooo nice and warm and I was really sick of the kids having a completely boring backyard. So.. we set off for Toys R Us and finally got the kids a play set. I can't believe we waited so long because it has been a lifesaver! Happy, worn out kids at the end of the day:-)

Hunter found these headphone-things in the garage and did not take them off all day!

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

In February, the kids' preschool had a field trip to the Museum of Nature and Science. We had never been there before and we have definitely been missing out! It is the perfect place for three four-year-old's for sure!

The first real snowstorm of the winter

It took until February 4th, but we finally got a big dumping of snow. I'm not a huge fan of snow but it is fun to see how excited the kids get over it.

This storm was huge. Enough for a snow tunnel!!

There was so much snow that Ryan was able to build an igloo that the kids could completely stand up in!!

Rocky Mountain National Park 2011

For the second year in a row, we went up to Estes Park for Elk Week. This year we actually got to camp though since we have our camper. It was a ton of fun. Ronda and her family were there and Jim, Brenda, and Hayden met us up there as well. It's amazing being that close to the elk and watching them. I still can't understand how all those "girl elk" hang around one guy elk and do whatever he tells them to do. I would NOT make a good elk!!!

If I remember right, I didn't have a camera with me and this was taken on Ryan's cell phone. Of ALL times to forget the camera, Elk Week is NOT the time! Grr!!

This picture was taken on a hike that we took up to the lake. Gorgeous!!

Halloween 2011

Since Halloween was two months ago, I'm going to do my very best at posting this correctly. This Halloween was definitely bittersweet. It was fun having the kids pick what they wanted to be for Halloween, yet it was sad that they wanted to pick what they wanted to be. It was the first year I couldn't have a theme for them. Reagan chose to be her most favorite princess, Rapunzel and Hunter chose to be his most favorite character, Buzz Lightyear. I also couldn't have had two more opposite trick-or-treaters! Ryan and I could barely keep up with Reagan and Hunter wasn't really in the mood. He even made us carry his basket!

Three (and a half) Year Pictures

Hunter and Reagan had their pictures taken in July by an amazing photographer Marianne Brown. I was impressed with how well the kids did considering we were pushing it with their naptime and the mosquitoes at the lake were insane! Here are a few pictures. Of course they were all amazing but maybe I'll save all that for a photo book or something:-)
