My 30th Birthday Surprise Spa Party!!

This past Friday, Melissa picked me up for what was supposed to be just dinner out for the two of us. We were going to go to the Orchard and eat while watching the live bands. When we got in the car, Melissa told me she forgot something at her house (she just lives a couple blocks away) and needed to go there real quick. Here comes the funniest part that seriously makes me laugh every time I think about it. We pull into her driveway and she gets out of the car. Well, I just laid my head back and shut my eyes. I was just going to "rest" while she went in. She turned around and asked "are you just going to stay in the car?" Me: "yeah, I'll just wait here". HAHA!!! I can't imagine what she was thinking! So she eventually got me to come in saying that Cade (her 2 year old son) would be upset if I didn't go in to see him. Well of course that worked! So she opens the door and "SURPRISE!!" Holy crap!! I had NO idea!!! I can honestly say that! There have only been a couple of other surprises for me in my day but Ryan usually slips up to give at least part of the surprise away (sorry Ryan!). It's usually him rushing around like a mad man trying to get somewhere on time and he just never does that normally:-)

So... there they all are! My dearest friends!! All there for ME!!! Melissa, Mom, Ronda, Amy T., Amy K., Jami, Kelly, and Christina (Stacy showed up later). I was shocked! I learned later that I actually looked mad..HAHA!! I was no where near mad! I think I just stood there with my mouth open trying to figure out how in the world they all pulled it off!! But, it wasn't over yet!! The girls grabbed the food off of the counter and we all went downstairs to Melissa's basement (yes, it's finished:-) ) and there was an entire spa set up!! A manicurist, pedicurist (is that even a word?), and an esthetician for facials! Unbelievable! I was able to have a pedicure while sitting on the couch chatting it up with everyone and enjoying a margarita! The girls also treated me to a facial which I really think was the best facial I have ever had! Thank you guys SO, SO, SO much!!!

Now to the funniest part... by the end of the night, we had all purchased tickets to the Poison, Def Leppard, Cheap Trick concert in August! Classic!!
It's so awesome having a professional photog for a friend!

Father's Day on the Western Slope

For Father's Day weekend, we went to my brother & his family's place in Fruita (far west Colorado). Mom and Dad went also and stayed with them. We actually stayed at a campground near their house in Danny's camper. It was so much fun! Getting the twins to sleep in their own big beds was a bit of a chore the first night, but after that they did okay. It was a bit of a chaotic start. Reagan got sick while we were eating dinner out the first night (not from food) and projectile vomited all over the sidewalk outside. Of course, more got on me than anything. We ended up taking them to the ER the next day because Reagan's fever wouldn't break and she was pretty lathargic. Hunter had a bad cough so I just had them check him out as well. Alot of people around here have had strep so I was worried about that. Obviously I have no clue what the symptoms of strep are because the doctor said they just had a virus and should be over it within a couple days.

On Friday, we drove up to Gateway, CO. I had never heard of Gateway, but there is this amazing new resort there (http://www.gatewaycanyons.com/) that was built by the founder of the Discovery Channel. There's an auto museum there with alot of amazing antique cars. The guys were in heaven!

We're now home for awhile until our next camping trip in July. We still can't figure out if we're going to tent it or rent a popup. I'm not having a good feeling about a tent with the twins when the temps get down to around 40 at night...

Orlando 2009

We went to Orlando a couple weeks ago and had a blast! I had no idea Orlando would be so much fun. I guess I just always figured it was only for Disney World revelers. We stayed at an amazing resort and are planning on going to the same place next year. The twins had a great time. Reagan was not too fond of all the water to begin with but she warmed up to it. Hunter couldn't get to the water quick enough!

The first day we just hung out at our hotel pool. They had fountains and a kiddie pool for the twins to play in. The fountains were their favorite. On Thursday, we went to the Sea World water park called Aquatica. It was the neatest water park I have ever been too (wait.. next to Schlitterbahn of course). Hunter even went down a water slide twice, the first with Ryan and then with me. I sat in the back of the inner tube and Hunter sat in the front slot and held on tight. I wish we had a picture of that! Friday,we drove about an hour and a half to Clearwater to go to the beach. Unfortunately, by the time we got there at noon there was NO parking to be found. So we like to say we drove to Clearwater to eat at Chili's:-)

I can't even count how many pictures we have. I picked some good ones but it may take you awhile to get through them all:-) These pictures aren't going to be in a very organized manner, but it would take me forever to get them in the right order and I just don't have that much time right now:-)
Ryan really takes issue with how small his head looks here!

18 Months Old!

Hunter and Reagan turned 18 months old on May 28th. So scary. I wish I had pics to post right now but honestly, I'm really too tired to get them downloaded. I will get some on here soon though. They had their checkup and not much has changed percentile-wise. Reagan is still in 75th percentile for height and 10-25 percentile for weight..WOOHOO! Hunter on the other hand is in the 50th percentile for height and 50-75th percentile for weight..HA!! I took him for his 4th haircut today and we are still waiting for Reagan to grow enough hair to even trim. It's getting there though and is beginning to curl. I wonder where she gets the curly hair from?!

We leave a week from tomorrow for Orlando. We are so excited we can barely stand it. The only plans we have so far is to visit Aquatica (waterpark owned by Sea World) and the beach in Clearwater. I'd LOVE to visit Sea World but I think that's really asking alot of the twins since we'll only be there 5 days. I'm sure we'll be back soon enough though. We'll celebrate our 7th anniversary (June 9th) while we're there and my impending 30th birthday on June 16th(EEK!!!!). I shouldn't even admit that. I remember when I thought 25 was way too old.

Ryan is in Nashville right now for "work". I call this his annual party week since it's just his entire group getting together for "meetings". Funny... I don't recall any work "meetings" that lasted into the wee hours of the morning and ended with a bit of a headache and nausea. Maybe I just wasn't that lucky to have a job like that... This week I am volunteering for Vacation Bible School at our church which leaves my poor mom to watch Hunter and Reagan every night for 2 hours. I came home this evening and seriously have never seen my house in such disarray. There were dining room chairs in the living room and another chair on top of the table. There were toys EVERYWHERE and she was slumped on the couch barely able to move. She told me she has never been so worn out and has no idea how I do it. It seriously took her 15 minutes to be able to get up and go home. She even wanted me to drive her home (she lives 3 blocks away!!). I just laughed. I really don't know how I do it either.. I just do.. And I love it:-)
