Grammy & Grandpa's pool

I've gotta admit, this may have been the most fun pool party we've been to since we've had kids. We went over to their community pool last Friday. Just like any good father-in-law would do, he had our very favorite margaritas all ready for us... and in Gatorade bottles packed and ready for the pool! What makes me laugh still is that I asked a couple times if we had water packed. I was assured we had enough. Let's just say that we had plenty of "Gatorade" with 6 bottles and approximately 10 ounces of water between us! Kills me!!

I promise...it was ONLY "Gatorade" that Grammy was drinking....

Nothing like a good wreck after a nice day of swimming

It just wouldn't be the same if both kids didn't through a raging fit!

Little Cody's birthday (and mine too!)

One of the kids' friends from preschool had a birthday party at a private lake out here. It also happened to fall on my birthday which couldn't have been more perfect. I'll take a lake on my birthday any day! We had a great time just hanging out and meeting new and fun people. Did I mention it was Jake and the Neverland Pirates theme? The kids had a blast too!!

Look at the cake Stacie made! Jake is actually in "water"!

Hunter was infatuated with these dead carp.

See what I mean??

Ronda & Gary

Thanks for the pretty look Ryan.

Tyler & Reagan

Daddy's got a brand new boat!

No, it's not the Tige' that I dream of and no, it doesn't throw a wake. Honestly, that's VERY sad for me and my love for wake boarding but it's GREAT for Ryan and his love of fishing. Ryan has always wanted a small fishing boat so he can take the kids out on the lake. This was a fantastic garage sale find! It's just one more thing that let's him create amazing memories with the kiddos.

She will probably never know just how much her daddy loves her

Wellington Lake

We drove up to meet Ronda's family at Wellington Lake for a Sunday in the mountains. The problem was, when we got there it was COLD and I didn't pack us any jackets or anything to keep warm. I forget when it's 90 degrees in Denver that it can be a bit chillier in the mountains. We ended up just meeting up with Ronda and fam and driving until we found a good picnic spot. We drove through the Hayman fire area which was incredibly depressing. That fire started the day before our wedding 10 years ago. It's hard to believe that 10 years later it looks like a fire just ran through it. Sadly, that's happening all over Colorado right now with wildfires.

On a sweeter note... it was still a gorgeous and very fun day in the mountains.

If they want to be a PERFECT driver like their mommy, we need to start them out young!

She loves the mountains but she also loves to be fancy. She is a native Texan afterall:-)

Gotta love the parking lot Carnival!

We took the kids to their very first carnival. I LOVED carnivals when I was a kid. I wonder...were they always so trashy? :-)

Casa Bonita!

We took the kids to Casa Bonita for the first time. If you visit Denver, you just have to make a trip to Casa Bonita! It definitely won't be for the food but the entertainment is so fun. The kids loved it!

See the plates of food? That's about as good as it gets:-)
