June 15th Reagan came down with a horrible sore throat and it came fast! I took her to the doctor who referred us to Children's Urgent Care. There is was determined that Reagan had an abscess on her tonsil that needed to be drained. On top of that she had strep. They were worried about her breathing so they transferred her to the main Denver campus via ambulance. It was definitely non-emergent but they wanted to cover all their bases.
The following morning, Reagan had a quick surgery to drain the abscess. I would love to say that she was a trooper through it all but really she was a feisty little thing. Ryan nicknamed her "The Diva of the 9th Floor". Yes, it was bad. The recovery room nurse said she was crying before she even woke up! I told people that Children's should at least have a bar that parents can escape tofor just a bit. I can't imagine what all the other parents are going through whose poor kids are there indefinitely.
Lucky for us though, we were outta there after two nights!
The resilience of kids never ceases to amaze me. We went home Friday morning and when we got out of the car, Reagan went running as fast as she could to Hunter and they just started playing! It would have taken me weeks to recover!!
