Hush little baby...

Hunter & Reagan have some crazy ways of falling asleep. Of course, every night begins with them talking back and forth between their rooms for at least an hour. It's usually Reagan asking Hunter all sorts of questions ("Hunter do you have your toy?") and Hunter answering simply ("yeah!"). Then they yell down that they have to go potty even though they always go immediately before they get in their cribs. They'll sing some songs, yell their ABC's and their prayer a few times. Then, all of a sudden, it is dead quiet. This is every single night. I think they may have narcolepsy or something.

They get to pick a couple toys to take to bed with them each night. For some odd reason, this is what she chose this particular night. Play with toys then BAM! Out like a light! Not before they're neating stacked on her chest though!
Hunter must have fallen asleep saying his Amen (that is what he calls the prayer) for the 14th time this evening.

And when you just can't get enough of your new shoes.... why not wear them to bed!!!

White Water Rafting

Saturday we went up to Idaho Springs to raft Clear Creek with our next door neighbors, Jaime & Susan. We first stopped in Blackhawk, which is a casino town up in the mountains. We ate lunch and then had about a half hour to kill gambling. I put my first $20 bill in a $1 video poker slot machine (I NEVER play dollars!) and BAM! I won $825 on the second hand dealt!! Made my YEAR!!! I promptly cashed out and we headed off to raft. Susan won $80 so it was a great day for us gamblers!

Back to rafting. Ryan and I have been a couple times before but this was our first time on a raging creek. It was SO much fun! We knew it was going to be entertaining when we found out we had to wear helmets! We had to share our raft with these two umm.. well.. interesting girls. It would have been nice if they could have fallen out along the way but they didn't. Don't worry.. they would have been fine. We wore life vests!

There was a spot along the route where we were able to get out of the rafts and swim. We had to climb these huge rocks and then "slide" down a rock right into the creek. It was so cold but so fun. You would slide in, get shoved under water, pop back up and then haul butt down the creek, but the way the current was going, the water took you right back to where the rafts were!!

Here we are at the very beginning.. all calm, cool, and collected

Let's paddle! A big one's coming!!
I think my face says it all about the first 6 foot drop we went down.. YEEHAW!!

We almost lost Jaime and Susan. I can't remember if Jaime lost his paddle on this one or the next drop..

This shot was taken after we got stuck on a rock and had to go down the chute another way (not an easy way!). Our guide had to make the 2 annoying girls get way up front and duck down so our boat wouldn't flip. It was classic!! They were SOAKED!!
See what I mean?? HAHA!!!
Paddle "high 5!"

There was a point along the trip that our guide told us to pose for the camera guy up on the hill. So of course we put on some goofy pose. You'll see what happened with Ryan while he was putting his best pose on... Check out the guide! He was a crackup!
Umm.. Ryan.. I don't think it's working out too great for you...

There he goes!!! He barely held on. Ryan was totally set up by the guide. Kills me!! HAH!!

They say the wildest rafting is in June after the spring runoff. I can't imagine it any wilder than it was on Saturday so we may just stick to July rafting.

Fashionista

She dressed herself. Need I say more?? Other than I love this little girl!! She is SO girly!! Kinda like her momma.. haha!!

New scooters!!

We bought Hunter and Reagan some matching Radio Flyer scooters. They would always try to ride the neighbor kids scooters and you know how little kids are.. they're not the best at sharing. With scooters came the fancy helmets too!

I know it looks like Hunter is annoyed with his helmet but you will see JUST how much he loves his new helmet in the following pics...

Let's grill baby!!

Clearly the helmet had to come off to get his shirt off, yet the helmet is back on! Yes... he still prefers au natural!

With clothes on!!

Daddy's little helpers

I know Ryan doesn't want them to grow up, but I do know he will love the day when the twins can really mow the lawn for him!!

Estes Park "Camping"

Last weekend we went up to Estes Park for our first camping trip in the mountains. We finally got a truck that would pull the camper faster than 45 mph on a flat road. It's a great truck but doesn't have the big lift and tires like the old one:-( We stayed at a campground called "Paradise on the River". We won't be able to dry camp until we can afford a couple generators and they're $1000 each! So.. maybe next year... maybe... The one fun thing about campgrounds is you get to meet people. For instance, our neighbors next door were Jon and Jan from Omaha, Nebraska. They have an old fifth wheel camper but they just leave it there all year long and come up a few times during the summer. Then we met Rod (who I think owns the campground). He lives in a HUGE, gorgeous bus that must have cost a small fortune. He and his wife are from Georgia and I loved his stories he would tell with awesome accent. I could have listened to him talk all day. It was a true Georgia accent that's for sure!

She made herself right at home in her campchair

So did Hunter.

Throwing rocks at the river.

It was an event-filled very short weekend but it was such a great time! We took the twins on pony rides on Friday. Reagan got to ride Blizzard and Hunter rode Cookie. Hunter wasn't too keen on the ponyride idea until he watched Reagan ride away. He must have figured if the horse didn't eat her up then he surely was safe!

I'm walking Blizzard with Reagan on him

Saturday morning we went into town to walk around and shop a little bit. Estes Park has the neatest river walk area.

Reagan hanging out on the street after getting her cherished gumball.
Oh yeah... he got a gumball too...
And he is happy about it!!

Eating all the chips and salsa at lunch... just like her momma!

Ryan's good friend Paul met us later on Saturday with his wife Malia and their 18 month old daughter Briana. It was the first time we got to meet Malia and Briana and we had so much fun together! Hunter went gaga for Briana the minute he saw her. Completely smitten:-)

Little Miss Briana on her very own campchair

I know we were supposed to be camping and all, but we really wanted to go into town to eat dinner. Our food for camping didn't turn out too great anyways. The steaks we brought weren't so good and even if they were, we would have had to use plastic knives because we forgot steak knives:-) We're still learning...

The Tiki Room. This is where we ate dinner.. right on the river.

The Kelly's- Paul, Malia, & Briana
And the Edwards
Ryan looks so angry! That must have only been his first beer of the night.

We headed out Sunday morning. We're actually going back to Estes Park in a couple weeks. It's only about an hour and half away so it's great for short trips.

All of us in front of Jon and Jan's camper:-) See you next time Kelly's!!!
